Korean Festival – Niles – Jul 25

So I’m back to Chicago since last Wednesday… but I’m glad that the temperatures here are around the 70s-80s. I was fed up with the heat in Japan. The whole 3 weeks I spent there, were so humid and hot with temperatures always in the 90s. It was so hot that every day I was soaked with sweat, ugh!. I have to buy a little towel for the sweat which everybody there seems to carry  one.  According to the news this was the hottest summer in Japan on record since 1898.  Oh well, that’s the only thing I didn’t like about this trip everything else was awesome…  If I ever go again which I’m sure I will, I’ll try to go in spring or autumn when the temp is a lot better… but firstly I would like to go to South Korea and I hope I can do it next year and who knows maybe I get in the ferry and go down to Japan ( Fukuoka)  as it just takes less than 3 hrs and it seems the fares are a lot cheaper in Korea…

… I haven’t sorted out more pics from the trip but here are some old I have at home of the Korean festival at Niles, IL on July 25. They are so  crappy…. The festival was very small but it was fine, the first 2 pictures say it all. I had planned to attend the big one in Chicago but unfortunately they move it to the days I was in Japan…

Nagoya

Here some pics I took in Nagoya  last Saturday…  While visiting some places I bumped into several festivals that were preparing for the evening,  so because of that I didn’t get to see some parts of Nagoya I wanted. Well, just  the JR towers  and the Castle,  actually I just see the castle from afar but I turned around as it seemed so boring to walk up there at look it up close… so I went back to the hostel to check-in early to spent the rest of the day on the festivals… I mainly spent most of the time at the one at Sakae, where so many things were going on…  and where btw it surprised me to see on the park a Mexican section…  I also bumped on a few Mexican restaurants and shops as well… something that i had rarely seen in other parts of japan…
